Hairy Michaelmas Daisy

A pretty aster with bright lipstick-pink flowers from late summer to mid-autumn. It forms fine clumps of light green and slightly hairy foliage, the tops of its branched stems erupt into vivid daisy flowers. Excellent for autumn colour towards the back of a fertile, moist, herbaceous or mixed border. It performs best in full sun and provides interest when many other perennials have finished flowering.Position: full sun or partial shadeSoil: well-cultivated, fertile, moist soilRate of growth: averageFlowering period: August to OctoberFlower colour: lipstick-pinkOther features: good for late summer colourHardiness: fully hardyGarden care: Stake with bamboo canes or brushwood in early spring. Water regularly during dry spells and deadhead regularly to prolong flowering.
