Chinese Virginia Creeper

Deeply divided, velvety, dark green leaves with white and pink veins will turn bright red in autumn if grown in a sunny spot. This is a handsome deciduous climber for awkward areas in the garden, such as a north or east-facing wall. Less vigorous than other varieties it's perfect for the smaller garden or where space is limited.Position: partial shadeSoil: fertile, well-drained soilRate of growth: averageFlowering period: June to AugustFlower colour: insignificant greenish flowersOther features: fabulous autumn tints, sometimes blue-black autumn berries; berries can caused upset stomach if ingestedHardiness: fully hardy (borderline)Garden care: Provide some support until the climber is well established.
