Early Dutch Honeysuckle

Fabulously fragrant, tubular, white flowers that turn yellow, and are streaked red outside, in late spring. This pretty Dutch honeysuckle is perfect for covering a boundary wall or fence in full sun or partial shade. Earlier flowering than many other varieties, its loose, spreading habit is ideal for a cottage or wildlife garden.Position: full sun or partial shadeSoil: fertile, humus-rich, moist, well-drained soilRate of growth: average to fast-growingFlowering period: May and JuneFlower colour: white flowers that turn yellow are streaked with redOther features: bright-red berries in hot summers, which may cause a mild stomach upset if ingestedHardiness: fully hardyGarden care: Cut back established plants after flowering, removing a third of the flowering shoots.
